Here at Tromasterpiece.com we obviously focus on the Tromasterpiece Collection, however with Troma's first Blu-ray releases on the horizon, we thought we'd take a break and give you the rundown of what's in the pipleline from Troma Team Video.
POULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD (Blu-ray, February 23)
Troma's most recent effort and perhaps most critically-acclaimed film ever makes its Blu debut in February. The first of many Blu-ray releases to come sports an impressive amount of special features, many ported from the previous DVD release, including the excellent POULTRY IN MOTION: TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN CHICKEN documentary.
TROMEO & JULIET (Blu-ray, March 30)
Exhilarating… Has poetry to match its sex and gore! –The New York Times
Lloyd Kaufman and James Gunn (DAWN OF THE DEAD, SLITHER) team up to bring you Shakespeare as he was meant to be seen: with all the body piercing, kinky sex and dismemberment that he always wanted but never got! Sporting a new high-definition transfer remastered from the original negative, TROMEO & JULIET will most certainly look better than ever before when it hits Blu-ray for the first time.
BIGFOOT (DVD, March 30)
Something monstrous is slaughtering deer in the marshlands of Ohio, leaving them town to shreds. Authorities believe it to be the work of a bear, but army veteran Jack Sullivan knows the truth. He has heard the creature's name, but nothing can prepare him for the disturbing reality of Bigfoot. The original monster of American folklore, Bob Gray's Bigfoot is more savage, relentless, and bloodthirsty than he's ever been before. The deer were just the beginning. He's saving his ultimate wrath for the men who enter his domain.
CLASS OF NUKE 'EM HIGH (Blu-ray, April 27)
The Readin', Writin' and Radiation classic that made tons of money for Media Home Entertainment back in the day makes its high-def debut in April. The story of Warren, Chrissy and their battles with the evil Cretins at Tromaville High School, along with the origins of Tromie the Nuclear Rodent make this disc a must-have!
DARK NATURE (Blu-ray and DVD, April 27)
Pre-order from Amazon.com: Blu-ray, DVD
Hoping to enjoy a nice holiday in the country, McKenzie and her rebellious daughter Chloe travel to a remote Scottish community, but their weekend getaway turns into a nightmare as an escalating series of disturbances force them into desperate fight for their lives. DARK NATURE offers bloody thrills and the blackest of comedy as these women struggle against a brutal attacker who is hiding a secret that threatens to tear them to shreds. In the spirit of psychological horror classics THE SHINING and LONG WEEKEND, this smart thriller has a twisting, turning narrative that creates a sense of dread from the first shot and never lets up until the final seconds.
