Tromasterpieces take some top honors on critic's lists in 2009!

The Tromasterpiece Collection was big in 2009!

'COMBAT SHOCK' aka AMERICAN NIGHTMARES (Tromasterpiece #4) landed not once, but TWICE on Mondo Digital's Best DVDs of 2009. But it didn't stop there…

Over at PopMatters, Tromasterpiece took two of the top 10 spots on their best-of list — one for 'COMBAT SHOCK' and the other for THE LAST HORROR FILM, featuring the late Joe Spinell.

2009 saw some of the finest releases in Troma's long history, and 2010 looks even bigger with Troma's first Blu-ray title due in February. If you haven't had a chance to see 'COMBAT SHOCK' or THE LAST HORROR FILM, what are you waiting for? Order them now!

Our friends over at Horror Talk have posted their review of TROMA'S WAR ...

Our friends over at Horror Talk have posted their review of TROMA'S WAR (due out on Tuesday, pre-order now from Amazon) and while they seem like fans of the film, they have offered some criticism of the extras on the release:

"The Tromasterpiece Collection is shaping up to be a nice way for Troma to revisit some catalog favorites, but with Troma’s War there is a strong aftertaste of missed opportunity. [...] What should have been a long overdue salute to the timeless message of the film, the biggest disappointment is the total absence of Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz revisiting their 'lost masterpiece.'"

Agree with ZigZag? Get your copy of TROMA'S WAR on Tuesday and let us know what you think!

"Held in the proper esteem and guarded by preservationists who could guarantee that future generations experienced the effort in all its powerful picturesque glory, Mad Dog Morgan might be one of post-modern moviemakings definitive titles. As it stands, it’s a unique offering in a corporate canon that has more blood and breasts than cultural epics. Troma should be proud to have this “Tromasterpiece” as part of their collection. The rest of the industry should be ashamed for letting it slip away in the first place."
